DOD Badge Printing

Our DOD printer fleet allows us to deliver badges of exceptional quality and durability.

High-Performance, Long-Lasting Printing

The SCOPUS badge personalization service has recently acquired three new production units based on Drop On Demand (DOD) printing technology. This hybrid 3D printing process, similar to stereolithography and inkjet 3D printing, delivers outstanding print quality and superior resistance.

DOD printing is particularly well-suited for producing professional badges in small and medium batches—ideal for companies that need to personalize their badges according to specific requirements.

How It Works

L’imprimante dépose sous pression de fines gouttes de silicone, qui parviennent à se maintenir grâce à leur taux de viscosité.
The printer applies fine drops of silicone under pressure, which retain their shape thanks to their viscosity.
Once the layer is deposited, the silicone is cured using UV light. The material is therefore built up layer by layer until it is fully solidified.

Why Choose DOD Printing for Your Professional Badges

Superior Quality

Experience the exceptional quality of our DOD printing, where sharpness and precision take center stage. With a 600 dpi resolution, our printers capture every detail and color with remarkable accuracy, producing flawless results for logos and complex visuals.
The subtle silicone relief adds a unique aesthetic touch, enhancing the overall look and feel of your badges. If you typically apply a matte or glossy varnish finish, our DOD printing process achieves an equally refined surface effect, ensuring a premium appearance.

Enhanced Durability

Enjoy the exceptional durability of our badges, thanks to UV curing. Once printed, the information becomes highly resistant to wear, ensuring outstanding longevity.
Our optimized process allows encoding, printing, and UV curing to be completed in a single pass—eliminating any need for manual handling between steps. The result is both impressive and time-efficient.
Your badges are built to withstand daily and repeated use without losing their integrity.

Consistent Reproduction

Simplify your badge printing process with DOD technology, which guarantees perfect consistency from one production run to the next. Unlike other printing methods that can cause slight variations in color or finish, our DOD printers deliver identical results every time.
You can rely on precise and repeatable output—ensuring consistency across reprints and long-term badge series.

Extended Capabilities : Our DOD printers also support additional badge customization features, including:

The Benefits of DOD Printing

By adopting this new printing technology, SCOPUS has significantly reduced the environmental impact of badge production.

High-resolution DOD printing offers numerous advantages:

Less Ink

Only the exact amount of ink needed is used, thanks to the precise injection of micro-droplets—eliminating the waste of entire panels.

Fewer Chemicals

Using UV ink significantly reduces the amount of solvent required. Moreover, unlike solvent-based inks, UV ink is much safer, as it is non-flammable.

Less Energy Consumption

DOD printing helps reduce the overall energy required for both the printing process and, more importantly, for UV ink curing.

Less Plastic

Enhanced resistance to scratches, scuffs, and abrasion not only extends the badge’s lifespan—reducing the need for reprints—but also eliminates the necessity of using a protective badge holder.

Lower Environmental Impact

It is important to note that PVC badges are composed of 57% sea salt and only 43% petroleum-based materials. PVC is fully recyclable, and its carbon footprint can be further reduced by reusing it in the manufacturing of new products such as windows, pipes, car seats, and various types of furniture.
