BADGE PRINTING
The technique to be used for badge printing depends on
several factors. We will study your badge requirements and advise you on the best printing technique to use.
SCOPUS masters several badge printing techniques
Specialists in badge printing for 30 years, Scopus has mastered all the techniques involved.
Offset printing
Our plant in Mérignac (33) is equipped with an OC200 offset press capable of card-to-card printing of both small and large runs. Printing is done in four-color process (CMYK).
The OC200’s production speed is 15,000 printed sides per hour. This gives a theoretical daily capacity of 100,000 single-sided cards.
Our fleet of industrial and professional printers for personalization
Scopus has its own dedicated badge personalization service, with a fleet of printers capable of sublimation, retransfer, thermal transfer and DOD (Drop on Demand) printing.
Single-sided four-color printing + Mifare®/DESFire® encoding + magnetic encoding: 1,500 cards/day
Monochrome numbering: 4,000 cards/day
Monochrome numbering + magnetic encoding: 7,000 cards/day
Single-sided color sublimation: 600 cards/day
DOD printing
Our personalization department is equipped with 3 new production units based on DOD printing technology.
The drop-on-demand method, drop-on-demand , is a 3D printing process similar to inkjet printing. Here, fine drops of silicone are deposited one on top of the other, solidifying under the machine’s UV light.
With a print resolution of 600 dpi and a very high level of detail, your badges are of the highest quality. The slight relief of the print adds aesthetic interest. DOD printing also provides a better surface finish, as with matte varnish, for example.
Under the machine’s UV light, the visual elements of your badges come out highly resistant to wear and tear. Your badges are built to last.
Images of different printing techniques
In addition to badge background printing, Scopus offers other graphic services such as :
Direct dye sublimation: a cost-effective solution for printing personalized badges
Hot foil stamping: this technique enhances your visual identity. Gold, silver, bronze, iridescent red, green….brilliant or matte, Scopus offers a wide range of colors.
Embossing: embossing of characters with gold or silver coating, as on your credit or loyalty cards.
Anti-fraud graphic security
You can enhance the security of your badges by adding one or more graphic elements:
Touch stamps, 2D/3D holograms, UV printing, microlines, guilloche background, holographic overlay.
These services can be a bulwark against forgery.
